Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 2026 · WeNotch
WeNotch for Windows is a native desktop application designed to run entirely offline on your device. We do not track keystrokes, capture screen pixels, monitor clipboard history, or transmit your workflow data to any server. Your desktop remains private to you.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in very limited circumstances:
- Waitlist Email: When you voluntarily submit your email address through our waitlist capture form on the website, we store your email to notify you regarding beta builds, public releases, and software updates.
- Aggregated Web Telemetry: On our website, we use Aptabase, an indie, privacy-first, and cookieless analytics solution. It tracks basic aggregate statistics (such as total page visits and general device type) without recording IP addresses, setting tracking cookies, or profiling users across other domains.
2. What We Never Collect
The WeNotch Windows desktop application runs natively on your machine using WPF and .NET. We never collect or transmit:
- Screen recordings, screenshots, or window content.
- Keystrokes, keyboard shortcuts, or input logs.
- Clipboard items or copied text.
- Personal files, documents, or directory structures.
3. How We Use Your Email
Your email address is strictly used to deliver product invitations, release announcements, and instructions on downloading WeNotch. We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address with third parties or advertisers.
4. Data Retention & Your Rights
You retain complete ownership over your contact information. At any point, you may request that your email address be permanently deleted from our waitlist records.
To request immediate data deletion, reach out to us directly on X (@reddew777) or open an issue on our official GitHub repository.
5. Third-Party Infrastructure
Our website is hosted on Vercel for high-availability content delivery. Software downloads and releases are hosted via GitHub Releases. Both platforms maintain their own industry-standard security and operational policies.
6. Updates to This Policy
As WeNotch evolves with additional features, we may update this Privacy Policy. The updated date will always be reflected at the top of this document. Continued use of the website or software indicates your acceptance of any revisions.
